Who is Corey Van Loon?

The youngest healer of Rotterdam, Holland

Coreys life mission became apparent at a very young age. He grew up in Rotterdam, Holland. He could not understand why sickness and poverty were such an apparent fact in his environment.

While he was playing with his little friends he could see in their aura’s if they had pain and where. After he laid his hands on their sore spot, most of the time the pain disappeared. He did not find this abnormal, because he did not think that pain belonged to any one.

In search of the truth

Years later, Corey became aware that the healings that took place were not so common. The urge to discover this healing phenomenon brought him at a young age to America. Besides his regular job, he made a study of medical, spiritual and alternative healing methods.

Corey had various occupations, such as commercial interior designer, physical therapist, psychiatric nurse, but none of these brought him closer to the question ”Why do people get sick, how does healing take place, and why”.

Corey’s life remained a search for answers, until he met Dr Ernest Holmes in 1955. Dr. Holmes was founder of the Science of Mind and this meeting changed the life of Corey completely.

Dr. Holmes explained to Corey that every person has a kernel of hidden talents and gifts. This kernel has enormous growth potential, but many people will not recognize this kernel and therefore it will not come in to being.

Corey followed the Science of Mind classes taught by Dr Ernest Holmes and many of his teachers. With this, Corey laid down the foundation of his future as a full-time Science of Mind teacher, healer, and philosopher.

In 1975, Corey founded the Omni Foundation in California.
Five years later, in 1980, Corey and his wife Hermance founded The Omni School of Applied New Thought Philosophy in the Netherlands and Belgium, as the only official Science of Mind school in Europe.

Corey is a full time Science of Mind Minister-teacher, counselor and practitioner (healer).

One of Corey’s qualities is that he can get complex across ideas in a way that’s easily understandable and memorable. This makes his teaching method very accessible to a wide audience. It is very unusual these days but reminiscent of the old world teachers.

As teacher, Corey conveys Science of Mind and New Thought principles to his students. In that process, he opens the ports to new ideas and knowledge in his students so that they can enter into this inexhaustible source of universal wisdom and love.

Corey is a well known author. He is bi-lingual. Several of his books are available in English.

It is Corey’s conviction that we can influence our circumstances through the proper use of our thinking by means of positive prayer, also known as treatment. The more we trust in the power of our thoughts, the sooner we will experience the results.

Rev. Hermance Van Loon, is the wife of Rev. Corey Van Loon and is co minister-teacher of the Omni School of Applied New Thought Philosophy

Dear Friends:

My beautiful name Hermance was called into being by my great-great grandmother. Hermance was the principal character of a novel that she liked very much. Therefore she named her daughter after this character. The name was passed on from mother to daughter and my mother in turn called me Hermance. I accept this as a nice heirloom, even if I have never found out what the title of the book was.

From my childhood on I was attracted to the sunny side, the playful side, of life. Even though my father was a medical physician, sickness remained a mystery to me and I could not understand the necessity of it. Years later, I understood that the reason I was called “the sun in house” was that I lived unconsciously the principles of the Science of Mind teachings.

My father was an ear, nose and throat specialist. One of the first words I learned was penicillin. At that time, penicillin was considered by doctors as the miracle medicine of the world. If. I experienced a slight throat irritationmy father would put me on his examination chair. He would look deep in my throat with a bright light. And standing besides me wearing his starchy white coat, he gave me the impression that I was a very important patient.

The pain always subsided immediately. The power of suggestion , mixed with fatherly love worked as a miracle. It was my first lesson in the Science of Mind.

After my completion of my law studies, I became a law teacher.
One day someone introduced me to the book of Saswitha, called the Swabhawat. The first thing that I read was “we create our own world”. It made such an impression on me that I started to take his yoga lessons and learned about his philosophy.

One day a friend of us, who was the CEO of a large Architect office, asked me to fill in the position of attorney of building affairs.

I felt that I was standing on the cross of my life path. It took me only on night to understand what I really wanted: I made my choice for the spiritual path.

In 1975 I graduated from my studies in Hatha and Raya Yoga and became a yoga teacher. I gave lessons to various age groups from kindergarten children to university students, psychiatric patients, banks employees, and architects.

In 1979 I met Rev. Corey Van Loon and in 1980 we got married.
It was him who made me aware that our thinking is creative. Since this time I am 100% devoted to and involved in the spreading of the Science of Mind throughout Europe. I am always present at Corey’s workshops and classes and assist in any way possible. In 1983 I was ordained a Science of Mind minister.

Our children Michelle and Quido always traveled with us through Europe and America. They have now their own families and are still very active with our Science of Mind activities.

Corey says: “You are on earth to be happy” and this I can endorse with all my heart.

Of course sometimes I am confronted with a set back of some kind, but because I am aware of the power of my thinking and with the oneness of the pure energy of Universal Love my problems can only be temporary and disappear as snow under the sun.

The light of Love is always present !
